On Friday, December 22nd, 2023, Living The Legacy Church and its congregation were illuminated by the warm glow of the community church. Inside, Pastor Ken Delisi was preparing for a special service, reflecting on the profound verses from Isaiah, Luke, Micah, Matthew, John, Psalm, and Genesis. His heart was set on conveying a message of unwavering faith and divine purpose.
As the congregation gathered, the air filled with the melody of “Joy to the World.” The lyrics, “Your name is the highest, I see the King of Glory, And he shall reign forevermore,” echoed through the hall, setting a tone of reverence and anticipation.
Pastor Ken began his sermon with Isaiah 7:14, speaking of the prophecy made 700 years before the birth of Christ, a promise of hope and salvation. He wove the story of Mary, as told in Luke 1, her humble obedience, and her profound role in the divine plan.
Moving through the verses, Pastor Ken illustrated the journey to Bethlehem, as prophesied in Micah 5:2 and described in Matthew 2 and Luke 2. The congregation visualized Mary and Joseph’s journey, their faith unwavering even in the face of uncertainty.
He then spoke of sacrifice and redemption, referencing Isaiah 53. “By his wounds, we are healed,” he proclaimed, emphasizing the depth of Jesus’ sacrifice and love. He connected this to the parables in Luke 15, where the shepherd leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep, symbolizing Jesus’ relentless pursuit of each soul.
As Pastor Ken cited Psalm 23, a sense of peace descended upon the crowd. He spoke of the Lord as the Good Shepherd, guiding and protecting, as in John 10:11. The story of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3:8 reminded everyone of humanity’s fall and the subsequent promise of redemption.
Coming to a close, Pastor Ken focused on Revelation 3:15-16 and the concept of being “all in.” He shared his reflections on Mary’s unwavering faith and Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice. “Just as Mary was all in, and Jesus was all in for us, we too are called to be all in our faith and trust in Him,” he urged.
The service concluded this time with a deeper understanding and a renewed sense of commitment to their faith. As they left the church, each person carried with them a piece of the story, a tapestry of faith woven from the scriptures, a reminder of the everlasting joy and hope brought by Christ.
